The final class will be an open discussion with the instructor and the director of worship for the diocese of San José.
These are some suggested discussion questions. If you would like to suggest others, e-mail the instructor.
Discussion questions
What is the paschal mystery? Would my mother understand your answer? Would an inquirer understand your answer?
Should we hold hands during the Lord’s Prayer?
Is it okay to applaud for the musicians at the end of Mass?
Why does Bishop McGrath ask that we not use communion from the tabernacle at Mass?
What is the ideal way to schedule first communions?

â–¡ If big, would you celebrate it on Sunday? Or perhaps on Saturday, or even another day?
â–¡ If not, would you do them at regular parish Sunday Masses?

Suppose your parish school approaches you about student involvement at the Sunday Masses during Catholic Schools Week. What do you say?

Several girls around 10 years of age, on their own initiative, have asked their parents to take them to celebrate the sacrament of confirmation. The usual practice in your parish is for baptized children to celebrate confirmation in 9th grade. How would you respond to the girls’ request?
