The liturgy committee””an exercise in leadership

Scenario

You are all members of a parish whose pastor has suddenly died. The bishop has appointed a part-time Director of Parish Life to run the parish for at least the next six months. Your parish has never had a liturgy committee and the new director has invited all of you to gather on January 28 to discuss starting a liturgy committee. The director has delegated full responsibility to you and will not be at the meeting.

7:30  Create a more in-depth description of our fictional parish, if necessary

Discuss the possible roles of a liturgy committee

Review our Commitments To Leadership In The Learning Environment

Create a debriefing process for the end of class to discover what we learned about liturgy, liturgy committees, and ourselves as leaders

9:00  Continue our fictional meeting

9:15  Debrief
